Oh, I love this:

Paint by number wallpaper, from 2 Jane.

Rings

I don't usually like big chunky resinous rings - but these from The Carrot Box are too-die-for-cute. And very reasonably priced to boot.

My Latest

I'm really into birds right now for some reason.

Here are some more of my fav's:

From M16 Handmade

From Chiasso

From Martha

From Velocity

From Moma

And finally - from my new favorite site Modish

It's time for another Sprints shot:

She's wearing her new top that she got from Angus and Dana. It's from Aqui which is a killer store in Albuquerque - check it out if you're ever down New Mexico way. I love this shot of Sprints - her look is so expressive.

Eva Zeisel

Have you seen Eva Zeisel's work? Eva is a 98 year old potter and designer from Hungary who has been creating amazing pottery since she was 17. She was an influential designer in the 1950's and a has recognizable mid century modern style. I had seen some of her pieces at Laguna Pottery, but it wasn't until I saw that Crate and Barrel has resurrected her Classic Century designs at a very affordable price that I realized that my dream of owning an Eva Zeisel piece may actually become a reality. (Sorry for the dinky photos.)

Even Nambe has a Eva Zeisel design.

While researching this entry - I found this great site Modish. Drool.

Super cool enamelware

I love the jewelry and mobiles from Kiln Enamel. I think the mobiles would be perfect for a mid century modern baby's room.

I taught myself to crochet recently

with this book: The Happy Hooker and help from my mom, Diane. This book is chock full of great projects, as well as excellent tutorials and how to's. I love Bust Mag Editor Deb Stoller's voice - clear, concise and totally saucy and witty. She's a pistol! I used her first book Stitch 'N Bitch to get over my inability to move past knit squares. And the rest was knitting history.

Awesome Local Artist

Shannon Bowley. I love the colors she uses. I first saw her work at Unfurl before it closed - her mini paintings look great grouped together on the wall. If I had a million dollars...

Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass?

Rest In Peace Buck Owens.

I just joined my first KAL

A KAL is a Knit-A-Long where group of people agree to knit the same pattern and then discuss, cheer on, commiserate and celebrate with each other. Don't tell LMB, but I'm knitting her this for her birthday.

Come on out for a cause

Big Dipper Wax Works here in Seattle had a fire in December that totally destroyed their whole operation - a devastating loss for them. They are having a benefit at Chop Suey April 6th that I am going to try and attend. And if you have ever enjoyed their amazing candles, you should try and join me.

Rat City Roller Girls

NBC reported on Roller Derby tonight, and it prompted me to give a shout out to our local ladies. I missed the first bout of the season - but plan on catching the next one, fo sho. Anyone care to join me?

Let's get on with the knitting already!

Here's what I've been doing lately:

Free bunny pattern by Jess Hutch with some Wool-Ease yarn from my stash.

2 pairs of baby booties from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Wish I could make these in my size in this exact same heavenly soft angora.

And this little bunny with the leftover angora from the booties.

Currently on the needles:

What has become known as the "perpetual bolero" from Vintage Knits - I bought the yarn for this project 2 or 3 years ago and have struggled with it ever since - there's just something so daunting about 15 inches of stockinette stitch with 200 stitches on size 3 needles. Wears me right out. In black Baby Ull.

Stash-buster tank top from One Skein : 30 Quick Projects to Knit and Crochet in a soft heathered grey alpaca lace weight from Misti Alpaca knit double stranded on size 8's.
