My First Drawing

I'm taking a Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain class. The other day I drew my own hand:



It was a major breakthrough for me. I'm very proud of it.

Ruby and I had a great walk today. It was so moody out - the light rain and grey skies made the colors of the plants really stand out.

Consider yourself lucky if you think of it as home
You can move mountains with your misery if you don't

It comes to me in fragments, even those still split in two
Under the leaves of that old Lime Tree I stood examining the fruit
Some were ripe and some were rotten, I felt nauseous with the truth
There will never be a time more opportune

So I just won't be late
The window closes, shock rolls over in a tidal wave
And all the color drains out of the frame
So pleased with a daydream that now living is no good
I took off my shoes and walked into the woods
I felt lost and found with every step I took

Dogwood

Ruby and I found this flower last week, it's a Dogwood Blossom.



I meant to go back to that tree and photograph a blossom right at its peak of perfection.

I forgot and now they're a little past their prime. Still gorgeous though.



Dogwood's are my new favorite tree.

Fuschia Explosion

There are Rhodies all over the place in Seattle, it being the Wasington state flower and all. But I was blown away by the color of this one bush:





It was like fuschia exploded.
