Thanks Starr!

My friend Starr Samuelson took some really great shots of Beki Wilson's Out of Line collection. Here are a few shots, more to come...

(thanks also to my pretty friend Lita for modeling)

Suzabelle Summer

Suzabelle is showing the sweetest handmade silk dresses this summer.

Watch out for them, they'll be up soon!

Spring Fashion

Hey peeps. It's mid April and I'm looking forward to some May events.

May 1 brings two fashion shows to attend:
Support families dealing with breast cancer and have a good time watching real men and women model spring trend from 12 local boutiques at Style '08.

or

Support Huntington's disease research and check out emerging designers from Seattle/Portland at theThaw fashion show.

Both will be fun, how to choose!

On Saturday, May 10 Petaline is having a fashion event with Revival Home and Garden. Revival is a kick-ass new store in Georgetown. Owner, Leah Steen has stocked her huge space with the most deliciously inspired furniture and home accessories. I love it in there and am super excited to be able to work with Leah on this event. 10% of all our proceeds will go towards Team Diane and the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day. It's also the night of Georgetown's Art Attack! art walk. Good times for a good cause.

Adam Fuss

An ex of mine works at a gallery in NY and sent along some photography by Adam Fuss. Incredible. I love being exposed to totally new modalities and he uses a technique called a photogram to create these haunting images:

I guess the process involves leaving items on photographic paper in a dark room on an enlarger for a period of time to expose the paper just enough to capture the skeleton of the image.

These is a pinhole image of his:

Incredibly well made, i-want-every-piece-for-my-spring-wardrobe cute clothes by Out of Line. I'm wearing one of her Shift dresses to the magazine launch party friday night. It's so comfy and sexy and fits me to a T.

Changing Room Magazine

Changing Room, the new magazine I write for is launching this friday. I'm super excited to be involved in this project. I've been working with Lisa Radon over at Ultra PDX, which is an incredible blog about the fashion, art and design coming out of Portland. If you're in Portland on friday 2/1, swing by the Ace Hotel and check out the launch event. It should be tons of fun with many cool Portland designers showing their Spring 08 collections.

Out of Line

I happy to welcome Beki from Out of Line clothing to the shop. Here are some shots from a previous season - just to give you an idea what to expect. Beki's pieces are all hand made and incredibly well-constructed. I love everything that comes out of her studio.

Rocco e Dante

Of course I LOVE anything inspired by pugs, so I'm happy to have Rocco e Dante handbags on board for a late spring/summer arrival.

My First Ever Photography Show

My friend Katy curates the Cafe Ladro's around town and she's been gracious enough to allow me to hang some of my Holga shots. It's a total thrill and I'm so thankful to her! Stop by the Ladro on 15th (Capitol Hill) if you're a local reader and check it out. I'm showing my Waitsburg series:
